An Interesting Evening

Tonight was a fun evening. My hubby and I had an unusual 'date'. We had dinner with Sheriff Joe Arpaio and 300 of our 'closest friends". LOL. We went to a speaking engagement/dinner at our local Chamber of Commerce where he was the guest speaker. Among the other "VIP's" was Senator Ron Gould, AZ state Rep Nancy McClain and Doris Goodall. Also there was Mohave County Sheriff Tom Sheahan who in 2010 was named among the top 10 toughest Sheriff's. I am sure by now you know who is consistently named #1. I found him to be funny and entertaining. The food there was fantastic too! I was very surprised to find out that it was catered by our local hospital. Now, I had Brandon at this hospital and I sure don't remember the food being that good! All in all, I had a great night. Despite the fact that I have strep throat. except for swallowing, I enjoyed the evening. I tried to steer clear of people and use Germx. However, if Sheriff Joe gets strep soon, please don't anyone tell him where I live :)

Just look how thrilled he is to meet me! haha.. Actually he was whispering something to me .

I am happy to say that I got to shake the hand of "America's Toughest Sheriff".

Last Weekend & This Weekend

Last weekend at Demo practice. . Happy, having fun and healthy. Brandon is in the orange shirt.

This weekend. Throwing up, fever and congestion. Sigh.

Brandon Is A Star On The Big Screen.

We had such a good time last night! We decided to drive up to Vegas to see the Las Vegas Wranglers vs The Stockton Thunder game. It was so much fun. Brandon was on the Tron several times and even won "Fan of the Game". For winning this he recieved some coupons for money off at Game Works. But he was more excited to see himself up on the big screen. We were sitting directly behind the Wranglers team dentist. We were also about 6 rows up from the glass. We had a great view of the whole game. The 'dentist was a nice guy. He is the older man, in the yellow jersey, in the picture where Brandon is getting his prize.  Everytime the Wranglers scored he turned around and gave Brandon a high 5!! He told Brandon if he was on the screen anymore they would have to sign him up for a contract. Hee Hee. There were a few fights during the game, which adds to the excitement *wink*. Our room was  very nice and spacious and we spent a little time at the hotel arcade too. All in all it was great, and much needed quick getaway.  Here are a few pictures. Family Fun Despite The Injury

We went putt putt golfing today. We had a lot of fun despite the injury to my husband's arm. He tripped and as he fell backwards his arm was attacked by a palm tree-OUCH!. After we got him cleaned up, we con't our round of golf. I won't be reporting on our scores. The PGA has nothing to be worried about :).

Warmer Weather Is Coming

This was taken in my back yard. It's going to be in the mid 70's over the weekend. I am looking forward to that. Soon, we will be complaining of the excessive heat. LOL..

Demonstration Team

Brandon joined the demonstration team at his TKD class. The demo team is the group that performs at schools and other community events. His uniform arrived yesterday. He is very excited. His first real practice is this Saturday.

P.S. Brandon has decided he is going to make money by putting his demo stuff on pay per view. LOL

Tears

Sometimes we allow ourselves to get burdened by unimportant things. We get sidetracked, off course and then feel alone.  We need to keep our eyes on Jesus, who never leaves our side.

Tears

When the tears are at the surface.

And threatening to fall.

I will look toward my Savior

to hear my burdened call.

He hears the tears and sees the pain.

And is waiting very near.

He only asks me to have faith

and to walk with him again.
