A Few Steps Forward. Several Steps Back

Day 6. He is not rebounding like I had hoped. We seemed to be making progress on Sunday. By Monday he was feeling rough. Last night he had a bad night. He woke up at 2 am crying and in pain. It took 15 mins to get him calmed down and back to sleep. He slept till 10:15 this morning and woke up crying and in pain again. This time I gave him some pain meds. He has toughed most of all this out w/o pain meds. He's only had 4 doses since last Wednesday. That is better than I would have done.

Ladies-Mother-Daughter Dinner

Last night we had our first ladies dinner w/our new pastor's wife, Merlynn. We ate at a local mexican place. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable time. Sorry for the blurry pictures. The ladies are camera shy. I tried to get the pictures fast.

Another Brush Fire!?

Remember our brush fire a few weeks ago? This one is in the other direction. This is looking out our bedroom window. Right now, the wind is blowing to the east. I am praying the wind does NOT shift toward us.

Update on this fire----FIRE

Saying Goodbye And Welcome

Last night we said goodbye to Pastor Johnson, Sally, Alison, Amy, Elisabeth & Emily. There were a lot of tears flowing in our church. It's never easy to say good bye to people who have been a part of your life for many years.. I kept my emotions in check--until-- I saw Brandon. Mike and I were talking in the parking lot with two other church members. Everyone else had  left... I looked over, and there sitting on the curb, alone, was Brandon, crying. I didn't think he understood everything that was going on. I was wrong. I still get teary when I think of that.  We will continue to pray for the Johnson's and their ministry. We will of course be able to keep in contact with them via blogs and e mail.

Now, I want to introduce our new Pastor and his family. This is Pastor Don Randall, Merlynn, Charlotte and Donald. Our church has supported them for years as missionaries to Northern Ireland and recently they were in the Phoenix area, attempting to start up a new church. They have been a part of our church picnics for several years now. They have attended several church functions too.  Who would have thought, years ago, that someday, they would be our Pastor (and family)?  God knew. Change can be scary, but it can be exciting too. I am looking forward to God's blessing on our church through their ministry. I only hope I can keep up with Merlynn. I say that  because I know she reads my blog.. LOL..  She has a bit of a wild streak in her.. It's all good though .. HaHa.  I will just hide the cheetos from now on (inside joke).

Welcome!!
