Beverly Hills to Bullhead ?

My daughter has been in a tough work evironment for some time now. She stuck it out in hopes to get transfer to a store in WA. Yesterday, she had a major meeting with management regarding treatment from a supervisor. The outcome was in her favor . The supervisor is on 'notice' now and one wrong move and it could be the end for her. My DD also has the right at any point to walk out with full pay for this week. You can bet that I was in the parking lot during the meeting in "Momma bear & Cop mode" waiting, if I  needed to storm the store. I also hid in the parking lot later that day till the offending party left as my DD started her shift. . As expected this person wanted to corner my daughter in private and per my instructions my DD did not allow it. You can be assured I will be in the parking lot (if the offending party is nearby) till my DD's last day this saturday. . My DD is trying to do things properly, be honest, and stick it out maturely and with her head held high. She also did it for the remaining employees who also have their battles with this person to face in the near future. I am very impressed with her!! She was VERY brave to go through all this.

My title respresents where this person came from and where she is now. She has ties to the 'rich and famous' but decided to walk away from it all (or so she says) to live a quieter life. I think that she has forgotten what is like in the real world and that people are not "staff' to be push around. the other two employees are about to leave too. One already gave their two weeks notice 1 month earlier than planned, after an incident and the other is deciding her best move. Oh by the way, the first crew working under this person quit on the same day and this resulted in my DD and this current crew being hired quickly. Upper managment is watching this situation very close and I feel they will be handling it regardless that my DD is leaving. . I think it's just a matter of time. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out this week.

I am boycotting this store till I see fresh faces in there! LOL

Our Last Youth Group Meeting

Tonight was our last King's Kids meeting. We are taking a summer break. Mike chose Bible verses for each child to read, during his devotion. I enjoy hearing my almost 8 year old reading, but it is really great to hear him reading from the Bible! Then they had playtime outside. THEN they came back inside and we filled them up with sugar. LOL. Hmm, I think we did that backwards!

2 Tim 3:15- And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus..

That was a rude awakening!!

We've been in this house almost 3 weeks. Sunday night, we were sound asleep and the smoke detector went off!! After investigating-sniffing-checking- we realized it was prob a dead battery. We changed the battery and so far, all is quiet. LOL.. We had that happen at our home several years ago. Except, it kept going of in conjunction with the washer & dryer being on, so we feared that there was a problem in the wall. After the FD came out they discovered one of the batteries was dead, but it was setting every single one of them off in the home. TALK ABOUT LOUD!

Busy Weekend

Friday my hubby called and invited me over to help him pack up boxes at his office. I enjoyed the idea of spending the day with him, but packing boxes was not really my idea of fun. I am tired of boxes- packing and unpacking things. UGH!! However, he needed help so Brandon and headed over and I packed up some boxes while Brandon helped Daddy throw away heavy chunks of asphalt. Then on Saturday, nine guys from the main office came down and helped them move to the new office. They managed to move all but a few things. Saturday, after daddy got home from the move, we took a walk around our new area (see the pictures below). Sunday was just a normal day church day.

Today a new man started work at my hubby's office. This will allow Mike to stay in the lab and not have to deal with the heat and working on job sites. It also allows the office to bid on more jobs. Up to this point, it's just been my hubby running the office and occasionally the part time secretary would come in to type up reports, file etc. I am glad that he has some help and that he will not be in the heat. The summers are brutal and working outside is miserable. We can't figure out why more jobs are not done in the winter around here!

We are kinda in limbo here about unpacking and moving things into their place. My daughter (she's almost 19) has decided to move to WA and live with my mom and step dad. She wants to have the opportunity to go to a certain school up there. She also wants to be able to have a bigger variety of work opportunities and volunteer opportunties. She wants to work with animals, hopefully in a zoo or wildlife setting. We will miss her and it will be an adjustment. She leaves July 5th. Her room will become my office and our school room (and guest room). So for now, things are just sitting there, unpacked and not in their places, yet. Again, I am tired of boxes!! LOL..

The Lake

Today we took a walk to the lake in our development. Newman had a great time but he wanted off his leash to chase the geese swimming around. We didn't let him loose. LOL
